Two options
- use regedit to add or modify the key HKCU\Software\Google\ChromeFrame\OptInUrls with char *
- download my Chrome Frame Switch executable application.
Latter one, is a zip with two versions of the same application, one for 32bit, one for 64bit. The application allows us to automatically set or remove that register key.
Thanks It's useful for some of us.
ReplyDeleteBut probably google needs to put a user friendly button in the toolbar like this included in the plugin, not only to activate or deactivate CF but to indicate if a page is rendered using CF forced by a meta tag. Don't you think?
And perhaps a drop option to un/set CF permanent, just like your utility.
maybe I can create something like that, sounds reasonable and useful at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThese guys had another suggestion though :D
@Andr3a: That article is orrible, the first time I read that was about April 1st of the last year, so I was prepared to the joke, reading now, de-contextualized so, I didn't notice that, made me crazy, until the JS performance and Server side decompiler, that made immediatly scrool to the top to read the date...
ReplyDelete... So I remembered to have already read that page ... Andr3a, you're an horrible person, Shame of you!
Andrea do you think it's possible to have ChromeFrame rendering inside IE when it is executing an .hta file?
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if I can render with CF in a little .hta app I use...
JoZ - IE proprietary formats are IE, Frame is Chrome - what works in Chrome, should works in IE, what works in IE, hopefully won't work in Chrome.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite interesting how lot of people switched opinion from "I hate IE" to "but I want IE stuff" in any case. It's not you, it is generally speaking.
Ehehe I've not switched idea, simply I need an app to run windowless, I think I will do a research to see what it needs to create a Chrome desktop app (like when you save Gmail as a desktop app)... In one case this can be the path, in another one probably it cannot since this second app make use of VBscript to run 7zip from command line and need to write to filesystem...
ReplyDeletethere's no need for VBScript, you have JScript WSH for that but still, IE proprietary stuff. Chrome, then Frame, is a browser, it's not integrated in the OS as IE is, the reason we cannot even uninstall IE 'cause it will be stuck there in any case. If you need IE, use IE, if you need a browser, download and use Firefox, Chrome, or Safari ;)
